Fight to ensure living in Derry Township remains affordable for all residents.
As Supervisor I will fight to ensure Derry Township remains affordable. Any development in Derry Township must be thoughtful and consider the fiscal and quality of life impacts to the township, such as future tax increases, traffic congestion, capacity of our school infrastructure, and the need to preserve open space for the community.
Ensure proper investment in Derry Township’s infrastructure.
Derry Township’s infrastructure and roads are essential to the community. As a township, we must invest in our roads. We drive our families to events, school, and activities using these roads. As Supervisor I will fight to properly maintain all of the Township roads and work to build a sound transportation network.
Protect seniors on a fixed income and working-class families with a property tax rebate program to offset impact of recent tax increases.
Recent and looming property tax increases by the Board of Supervisors have placed many of our neighbors in difficult financial situations. I will advocate for the Township to provide a property tax rebate program to put money back in the pockets of the residents most impacted by these tax increases. This rebate program would be funded with modest increases in the amusement and parking taxes, with proceeds placed in a restricted township account dedicated to the property tax rebate program.
Ensure Derry Township’s budgets are fiscally sound and responsible.
I understand the importance of sound and balanced budgets. I will advocate for a full time Finance Director for Derry Township. Additionally, I will advocate for the Township to include a 5-year fiscal and strategic plan to every annual operating budget. Finally, absent external economic factors, any operating budget increases do not exceed the rate of inflation.
